Become a CASA Volunteer

Application
Reference Form

How to Apply

Step 1: Review the eligibility requirements and responsibilities of CASA volunteers.

Step 2: Begin the application. The application can be accessed here or by clicking the "Application" button at the top of this page. Once you have completed the PDF, save it to your device and email it to [email protected]  for review.

Step 3: Share the reference form with your references. The reference form can be accessed here or by clicking the "Reference Form" button at the top of this page. Applicants are required to have three references. All reference forms should be sent directly to Norfolk CASA from the person who is providing the reference.

After the Application

Once all components are received by our team, we will review your application. A background check will also be completed at this time. You may then be invited to an interview.

If accepted to be a volunteer, you will then complete mandatory trainings. Trainings are held via Zoom on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. One additional 4-hour training will be held in person; the date and place are to be determined. Training dates are as follows:
  • Fall 2025: September 16th-October 16th
  • Winter/Spring 2026 - TDB

After an empowering month of training,  you will be sworn-in by the Chief Judge of Norfolk's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and be on your way to advocating for kids!
