After the Application
Once all components are received by our team, we will review your application. A background check will also be completed at this time. You may then be invited to an interview.
If accepted to be a volunteer, you will then complete mandatory trainings. Trainings are held via Zoom on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. One additional 4-hour training will be held in person; the date and place are to be determined. Training dates are as follows:
Fall 2024: September 17th-October 10th
Spring 2025: May 13th-June 12th
Finally, you will be sworn-in by the Chief Judge of Norfolk's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. And with that, you'll be on your way to advocating for kids!
