Job Opening: Training Coordinator (Part time) Accepting applications: 06/23/2025 – until filled
The Training Coordinator works to promote the mission of Norfolk CASA through community outreach and recruits, screens, and trains volunteer advocates to work for the best interest of abused and neglected children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead community outreach and volunteer recruitment efforts to include outreach via a wide array of social media platforms, virtual and in-person informational sessions, and community-wide engagement events to attract a diverse set of volunteers who represent our community and the children we serve
Coordinate the vetting and selection process of volunteer applicants
Train adult volunteers in national and local curricula: lead training coordination of both Pre-Service CASA Training and routine in-service trainings
Participate in planning and implementation of volunteer recognition events
Maintain all grant specific goals, objectives and timelines
Maintain recruitment, outreach, volunteer, and program statistics
Attend conferences, seminars, and meetings to further increase knowledge of child advocacy, social justice, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, maintaining at least 12 hours of continued education each year
Assist with other related projects and activities that will contribute to the growth of Norfolk CASA, as directed
Reports to - Executive Director
Qualifications/Skills: The position requires a bachelor’s degree and experience in child advocacy and volunteer management OR a combination of advocacy experience and training which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Candidate must have a valid driver's license, ability to travel locally and pass all background checks. This position requires the candidate to be efficient in utilizing virtual training platforms. This position also requires the candidate to be flexible and available to work regular evening (spring, winter, & fall training classes) and occasional weekend hours. Salary/Bens: $26k (part-time, 20 hours/week), Flexible work schedule, Hybrid work locations
